Why Familiar Pain Can Feel Safer Than Change

Understanding why people can remain attached to patterns that no longer serve them.

Why Familiar Pain Can Feel Safer Than Change
A familiar pattern can feel safer than an unfamiliar possibility, even when the pattern is painful. Your mind may prefer what it can predict because predictability creates a sense of control.

This does not mean you want the pain. It means a protective part of you may be trying to avoid uncertainty, rejection, failure or disappointment.

Change becomes more sustainable when you stop attacking the protective pattern and begin understanding what it believes it is preventing. From there, you can build safety around a new response instead of forcing one.
